Summer Sewing

This summer required some major updating to my wardrobe. Partially because it was very hot and some because my work clothes were beginning to look worn and unprofessional. Most of what I made were skirts and blouses. Many of them were from the same pattern because I just really liked the way the skirts looked. I changed the fabric for variation.

The outfit below is one that I did as a variation of a skirt I saw in the store. That skirt had the side panels cut on the bias. I was not sure I wanted to take on a bias cut pattern but still wanted that look. The stitching done below was done using the stretch stitch on my machine. It took about 8 hours to complete the stitching on the front and back of the skirt.
